Before tackling the drive sprockets I decided to take a look at the front idler wheels. Yep, they are booth in need of new bushings. Bushings & Bearings will be a reoccurring theme.
I'm an Oliver Enthusiast. I've been an Oliver owner for two years when I bought my 1958 Oliver 550 on Easter Sunday 2005. I became a true Oliver Collector in March 2007 when I bought my 1955 Oliver OC-3 (42 Ind). Why Olivers? My grandpa farmed with Olivers. My dad has an Oliver 550. My brother currently has grandpa's 1650 at his place. And, my father-in-law (and his father farmed with Oliver's too) is an Oliver owner with a Row Crop 66 and a 1600 narrow front.
The more you learn about Hart-Parr/Oliver and their associated brands. . .the more you have a genuine respect for the impact this company has made on agriculture, engineering, and construction equipment.
