After a few days I went out to try those last two retainers again. I was getting my footing to gather all of the strength to clamp on the vice-grips when the grips slipped. . .I repositioned and squeezed down and again something slipped. Both of the remaining retainers were LOOSE. Heat, WD-40 and patience won the day.

Like Butter!
After a few days I went out to try those last two retainers again.
